Cardiff hooker Kirby Myhill has been released back to the club after fit-again Elliot Dee was called up from the Dragons ahead of the final autumn international against Australia on Saturday.
The 29-year-old was a late addition to the Wales squad in the week before the New Zealand test as Dee withdrew due to a neck injury and then Ken Owens failed a fitness test with a back problem. He made his international debut off the bench against the All Blacks but then was not included against South Africa or Fiji.
He will now return to the Arms Park to prepare for Cardiff’s trip to South Africa which gets underway against the Lions in Johannesburg a week on Saturday.
Elsewhere in the Wales squad Willis Halaholo returned to action after contracting covid-19 and isolating off the bench against Fiji, but was only included in the 23 after Josh Adams withdrew due to a calf problem suffered in the warm-up. He will now undergo a late fitness test ahead of the clash with the Wallabies.
