Cardiff duo Ellis Jenkins and Willis Halaholo are set to be missing from the Wales 23 that will face New Zealand on Saturday due to injury and coronavirus.
Back rower Jenkins is still struggling with the rib injury suffered in the Blue and Blacks win over Sharks the weekend before last, picking it up while being tackled midway through the first half. While he was expected back in training this week it may be too late to get into the matchday squad for a return to the test arena after three years away.
Meanwhile centre Halaholo will definitely be missing after testing positive for coronavirus on Monday. The 31-year-old will now have to isolate away from the squad for 10 days, also casting doubt over his involvement against South Africa in the second test match of the autumn.
Scarlets centre Scott Williams has been called up to cover Halaholo’s absence, but there has been no additions to the pack with Cardiff lock Seb Davies potentially asked to cover off the bench against the All Blacks.
