Evans out of Sharks clash as Navidi faces spell on the sidelines

Jarrod Evans will not be fit to face the Sharks on Saturday but is in line to be fit for Cardiff’s clash with Dragons next week after being left out of Wales’ autumn international squad.

Dai Young confirmed that the fly-half had taken part in modified training this week after suffering a bruised sternum in the opening round win over Connacht. Initial hopes he could be back for Saturday night have not come into being, but it will be a boost to next week’s squad with Rhys Priestland and Ben Thomas unavailable.

Meanwhile Josh Navidi is set to be sidelined for some time after suffering a shoulder injury in last Saturday’s loss to Bulls. It is believed to be an issue he has been carrying for some time and has visited a specialist this week to determine the next course of action.

The back rower will certainly be out until the end of November, but if he requires surgery then he is looking at being out until the new year at the earliest.
