Cardiff have named their team to take on Pontypridd in the Indigo Group Premiership Cup on Friday night with Steve Law dealing with a bit of an unavailability crisis.

11 of the 22 semi-professional players on the books at the Arms Park are not available for selection with Thomas Davies, Ollie Drake, Nathan Hudd, Morgan Allen, Tom Habberfield, Barney Nightingale, George Gasson and James Beal all sidelined, while three more players have been kept out by other commitments.

It means there are six changes to the starting XV as Efan Daniel and Scott Andrews join Theo Bevacqua in the front row, and Sam Moore slots in at number eight with Alex Everett returning to the flank where he will captain the side from once again.

In the backs Ethan Lloyd gets the nod at scrum-half, Max Llewellyn slots in at inside centre, while Aled Summerhill starts on the wing. Ioan Evans shifts to outside centre to accommodate Llewellyn.

Evan Yardley could make his first appearance of the season off the bench as hooker cover, James Richards takes a seat among the replacements while Rory Harries is brought in on permit from Bedwas to cover scrum-half.

Cardiff: Jacob Beetham, Harri Millard, Ioan Evans, Max Llewellyn, Aled Summerhill, Dan Fish, Ethan Lloyd; Theo Bevacqua, Efan Daniel, Scott Andrews, Sean Moore, Teddy Williams, Gwilym Bradley, Alex Everett (c), Sam Moore
