Cardiff & Vale College and Coleg y Cymoedd will go head-to-head in the final round of games in the Cardiff Pathway pool of the WRU College League to decide who emerges as champions.
CAVC won out in the televised match against Ysgol Glantaf on Wednesday night despite going down to 14-men in seemingly bizarre circumstances as a yellow card was shown just before half-time with the referee upgrading it to a red card during the break.
Tries from Saul Hurley, Sam Sully and a brace from Mackenzie Martin secured a 15-32 win for Martyn Fowler’s men, with the Glantaf tries coming from Ben Geraghty and a brace for Dafydd Jones.
It was a similar scoreline in Whitchurch as the home side were encouragingly competitive against Cymoedd, with a final score of 14-32 to the visitors.
The results mean it’s close to a winner takes all clash next week as CAVC travel to Cymoedd leading by just three points in the table, while Whitchurch could overhaul Glantaf for third place with the gap four points.
