Perhaps with the dreadful weather forecast for Saturday afternoon in mind, Cardiff head coach Steve Law has made nine changes to the starting XV that lost to Newport last week for the trip to Ebbw Vale, 2.30pm kick-off.
There is an all-new front row with Theo Bevacqua and Will Davies-King packing down either side of Iestyn Harris, while Teddy Williams joins Sean Moore in the second row for a first start of the season. There’s no Morgan Allen in the squad as Gwilym Bradley starts at openside flanker and Alex Everett switches round to number eight where he will captain the side from for the first time.
In the backs Jamie Hill makes his Rags debut 58 years after his grandfather Ron Hill did the same, joining Dan Fish at half-back as the latter moves up from full-back. Ioan Evans and Tom Hoppe form a new centre partnership while Harri Millard shifts to the wing and Jacob Beetham is restored at 15.
Efan Daniel and Llyr Green drop to the bench where they are joined by Brynley Toms as the replacement front row, Rory Bartle also drops down where he is joined by Rhys Anstey as loose forward cover. Jack Maynard and Ryan Wilkins both take a seat among the replacements as fly-half and outside back options, respectively.
