Cardiff head coach Steve Law has made seven changes to the Rags starting XV for Friday night’s game against our oldest rivals Newport at Rodney Parade, kick-off 7.15pm.
There are three in the pack where Efan Daniel starts at hooker as Alun Rees drops to the bench, Rory Bartle moves up to partner Sean Moore in the second row and James Richards gets the nod on the blindside with Alex Everett switching to openside and Gwilym Bradley taking a seat among the replacements.
In the backs there is a start for last week’s hat-trick hero Ellis Bevan at scrum-half, with Ethan Lloyd dropping to the bench, while a new-look back three sees Jake Thomas and Ryan Edwards line up either side of Dan Fish as Tom Habberfield remains sidelined, Jake Beetham drops out of the squad and Barney Nightingale will be out for some time after suffering a fractured eye socket last week.
On the bench there is a return to action for second row Teddy Williams, while Ioan Evans could make his Rags debut if called upon to cover the outside backs.
