Cardiff fly-half Jarrod Evans is fit and ready to face Connacht in the United Rugby Championship opener on Friday night at Cardiff Arms Park, 7.35pm kick-off.
The 25-year-old missed the pre-season friendly against Bath due to covid protocols but is available to Dai Young for Friday, with the Blue and Blacks Director of Rugby having few injury concerns going into the game.
James Botham (shoulder), Ben Thomas (groin) and Ben Murphy (knee) are all sidelined, while Luke Scully and Mason Grady continue to recover from longer term knee injuries, but Shane Lewis-Hughes, Josh Turnbull, Matthew Screech and Tomos Williams are all expected to be available for selection having either not featured earlier this month or withdrawn from the Bath squad.
Aled Summerhill is also fit with the possible recurrence of his wrist injury just an expected reaction following the break he suffered back in March. Young’s squad to face Connacht will be announced at midday on Thursday.
