Both sides had to work for their wins though as Whitchurch High bounced back from a heavy defeat last week to push Cymoedd all the way, the winners relying on a late score to wrap up a 22-32 win, although Whitchurch grabbed four tries in the loss.
CAVC, meanwhile, had to push past a Ysgol Glantaf team who were resilient for the second week in a row, as Martyn Fowler’s side came through 21-12 winners.
It’s the battle of the league leaders next week at the Arms Park as CAVC host Cymoedd in front of the S4C Rygbi Pawb cameras, while Glantaf travel to Whitchurch with both sides hunting a maiden win of the season.
