WRU College League returns with pathway derbies

The WRU College League returns for the 2021/22 season this afternoon after a year away due to the coronavirus pandemic with two big Cardiff pathway derbies.

There is a slightly different format this year with the teams split into four pools within their regional development pathways, with Dragons and RGC merged, before a play-off series leading into a Final at the Principality Stadium in December, rather than the usual double round-robin league continuing until February.

Five-time champions and 2019/20 season finalists Coleg y Cymoedd start their campaign live on S4C’s Rygbi Pawb on Wednesday evening, hosting Ysgol Glantaf at Sardis Road, available to watch on both Facebook and the S4C website.

Earlier in the day Whitchurch High School host city rivals Cardiff & Vale College on their home pitch, with CAVC fresh off the back of a summer that saw their first rugby academy alumni win a senior Wales cap in the form of Ben Thomas.
