Posted by This Saturday’s planned Summerfest event has been cancelled with the Cardiff first team squad and coaches unable to attend due to the risk of the coronavirus.
With rates increasing exponentially in recent weeks and the new United Rugby Championship season just two weeks away, the risk of a squad member or coach contracting the virus and impacting on availability for the visit of Connacht on Friday 24th September has been deemed too great.
Friday’s pre-season friendly with Bath is unaffected and will go ahead as planned with a 7.15pm kick-off at the Arms Park, although a number of restrictions will be in place to keep the the players and rugby staff, who undergo Covid-19 testing three times a week and operate in a semi-bubble, safe.
