Cardiff half-back duo step in for Wales’ clash with Argentina

Wales head coach Wayne Pivac has rung the changes for the second test with Argentina after last weekend’s 20-20 draw at the Principality Stadium.

There’s a new half-back pairing in place as Cardiff duo Tomos Williams and Jarrod Evans step up from the bench to take their club partnership to the international stage, while two other changes in the backs see Nick Tompkins start at outside centre and Tom Rogers return to the wing as Willis Halaholo drops to the bench and Jonah Holmes sits out.

Up front Gareth Thomas and Leon Brown form a new prop pairing with Nicky Smith missing out and Dillon Lewis taking a seat among the replacements, while Josh Turnbull replaces the injured Aaron Wainwright in the back row as Ross Moriarty switches to number eight.

Rhodri Jones and Sam Parry could make their first appearances of the summer covering loosehead and hooker off the bench, respectively, while Matthew Screech could make his Wales debut if brought on at lock. Kieran Hardy and Callum Sheedy drop down to cover half-back.
