Cardiff Academy coach T Rhys Thomas will link up with the Wales U20 coaching ticket this summer for the upcoming U20 Six Nations tournament.
The 39-year-old has been back at the club since 2018 after starting his coaching career at the Dragons, developing future stars of the Arms Park as well as acting as forwards coach for the Rags and Celtic Cup side, and this season doing work with the senior team under Dai Young.
Now the former Cardiff, Wasps, Dragons and Wales hooker will join Ioan Cunningham’s team, as the former Scarlets forwards coach takes over from Gareth Williams in leading Wales U20, with Thomas looking after the lineout alongside former Ospreys prop Paul James, and former Ospreys winger Richard Fussell.
Thomas follows in the footsteps of Richard Hodges and Gethin Jenkins who have recently worked with Wales U20 alongside their day jobs with Cardiff.
