Wayne Pivac has name a 34-man squad for Wales’ summer internationals with Canada and Argentina containing a huge 11 Cardiff players.
There is a first selection for the uncapped Ben Thomas, while Josh Turnbull is back in the squad for the first time in three years. Josh Navidi and Owen Lane are both included despite having missed recent weeks due to injury and suspension, respectively.
Dillon Lewis, Cory Hill and James Botham are also selected among the forwards, while Tomos Williams, Jarrod Evans, Willis Halaholo and Hallam Amos are the backs contingent. However, there are no call-ups for Corey Domachowski, Rhys Carre or Seb Davies despite recent good form in the Rainbow Cup.
Callum Sheedy, Ioan Lloyd and Leigh Halfpenny are selected having previously been part of the Cardiff Academy, making it 11 former Academy members who have been selected this summer.
Elsewhere in the squad there are first call-ups for Ospreys prop Gareth Thomas, Dragons lock Ben Carter and back rower Taine Basham, and Scarlets winger Tom Rogers, while scrum-half Rhodri Williams could win his first cap for seven years and Jon Davies captains the squad from midfield.
