Cardiff face back three shortage for Zebre clash

Posted by

Cardiff Blues are down to the bare bones in the back three as Zebre arrive at the Arms Park for our final clash in the Rainbow Cup this Saturday, 7.35pm kick-off.

Dai Young will likely only have Matthew Morgan, Jason Harries, Harri Millard and Dan Fish as senior options to pick from, while Ben Thomas could fill in at full-back, or youngsters Immanuel Feyi-Waboso, Jacob Beetham, Theo Cabango or Jake Thomas could get the call to feature.

This is due to a raft of injuries and suspensions picked up in recent weeks and months. Garyn Smith, Aled Summerhill and Mason Grady are on the long-term injury list, while Rey Lee-Lo has missed all of the Rainbow Cup so far and Max Llewellyn hasn’t featured since picking up a knock against the Dragons.

With Owen Lane serving the final game of his suspension, Hallam Amos suffering a concussion in last week’s loss to Munster and Josh Adams rested ahead of the British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa, it will be a somewhat scratch outside backs corps that takes the field on Saturday evening.
