The Welsh Rugby Union have announced how the Indigo Group Premiership will return to action next season with a new cup competition.
Cardiff RFC will compete in the Indigo Group Premiership Cup, which will consist of a double round-robin pool stage with sides put together via geographical location, before going into a knockout stage to decide a winner.
The competition can get underway from Saturday 7th August and will run until December. There will then be a mid-season break through the end of December and January, before a shortened Premiership season is set to begin in February.
Due to covid-19 the games will be played under modified rules with the aim of reducing face-to-face contact. The full list of modified laws can be found below, with the major point of interest being scrums will only take place after knock-ons and not be an option when a penalty or free-kick are awarded.
