Cardiff RFC captain Morgan Allen has signed for the West Wales Raiders RL ahead of their Betfred League One campaign this summer.

The 30-year-old joins a number of players with links to the Arms Park in the squad of the Llanelli-based side with former Cardiff Blues centre Gavin Henson, former Cardiff RFC scrum-half Scott Gibson and Cardiff Blues Women coach Mike Connor also on the books.

Allen signed for the Rags from Ealing Trailfinders in the summer of 2018, having previously come through the Dragons Academy and gone on to play for the Ospreys and Scarlets. He featured 30 times that season, scoring 15 tries, as he played a key role in the Specsavers Cup triumph.

The number eight was then named club captain ahead of the 2019/20 campaign as Joey Tomlinson departed for Canada, and had five tries in 18 games before the season was cut short by the coronavirus pandemic with Cardiff right on course for Indigo Group Premiership glory.

West Wales Raiders RL get their 2021 season underway by hosting Widnes Vikings on Sunday 21st March in the Challenge Cup, a game that will be streamed live on the BBC Sport website.
