150 up for Turnbull as Cardiff Blues face Munster

Cardiff Blues forward Josh Turnbull will make his 150th appearance for the club when he starts for and captains Cardiff Blues on Friday night against Munster, 8pm kick-off.

The 32-year-old is part of an unchanged set of back five forwards from the loss to Connacht last week, while there are two changes in the front row with Kirby Myhill starting at hooker as Liam Belcher drops to the bench, and Corey Domachowski starting at loosehead in place of Rhys Carre who stays with the Wales squad.

Lloyd Williams is also retained by the national team and Jason Tovey is ruled out with a head injury so Jamie Hill and Ben Thomas form an exciting young half-back partnership, while Mason Grady could finally get his first competitive start after an inconclusive coronavirus test prevented that last week. The back three is also unchanged.

On the bench there is a possible debut for loosehead Theo Bevacqua, James Ratti is recalled to cover the second row and Olly Robinson returns to fitness as the back row option. Lewis Jones is recalled to cover scrum-half while Dan Fish will be the 10 and 15 options after an unexpected call up to the bench last week.

Cardiff Blues: Matthew Morgan, Owen Lane, Mason Grady, Rey Lee-Lo, Aled Summerhill, Ben Thomas, Jamie Hill; Corey Domachowski, Kirby Myhill, Dmitri Arhip, Seb Davies, Rory Thornton, Shane Lewis-Hughes, Ellis Jenkins, Josh Turnbull (c)

Replacements: Liam Belcher, Theo Bevacqua, Keiron Assiratti, James Ratti, Olly Robinson, Lewis Jones, Dan Fish, Max Llewellyn
