100 up for Nipper as Navidi returns for Scarlets re-match

Interim Cardiff Blues Director of Rugby Dai Young has named his first matchday squad of his second spell at the club, making two changes for the trip to Scarlets for a re-match from two weeks ago.

One alteration is injury enforced as Shane Lewis-Hughes is ruled out with Alun Lawrence coming in at number eight and Josh Turnbull, who makes his 200th Guinness Pro14 appearance moving fifth on the league’s all-time appearance list, shifting to blindside flanker.

It is unclear whether the other is due to injury or a tactical switch, but Seb Davies returns to the second row alongside Cory Hill with James Ratti missing out altogether. Rory Thornton will cover lock from the bench.

There are two other new faces on the bench as Kris Dacey returns to fitness to cover hooker while Josh Navidi could make his first appearance of the season in the back row after being out since September due to a head injury suffered in training.

Elsewhere, Matthew Morgan will make his 100th Cardiff Blues appearance when he lines up at full-back. The 28-year-old has reached the milestone in just four-and-a-half years, with 72 of his appearances coming from the start and 17 tries scored along the way.

Cardiff Blues: Matthew Morgan, Josh Adams, Rey Lee-Lo, Willis Halaholo, Hallam Amos, Jarrod Evans, Tomos Williams; Corey Domachowski, Liam Belcher, Dmitri Arhip, Seb Davies, Cory Hill (c), Josh Turnbull, James Botham, Alun Lawrence

Replacements: Kris Dacey, Rhys Carre, Dillon Lewis, Rory Thornton, Josh Navidi, Lloyd Williams, Ben Thomas, Aled Summerhill
