Cardiff Blues are rumoured to be keen on bringing Dragons hooker Elliot Dee and second row Matthew Screech to the Arms Park for next season.
Steffan Thomas in The Rugby Paper reported over the weekend that Screech, a former Cardiff Blues Academy member who played 45 times for Cardiff RFC between 2011 and 2013, is in talks to return to the capital after eight years at Rodney Parade.
The Dragons are keen to keep hold of the 28-year-old but may struggle to match the reported £130,000 a year being offered to the player by Cardiff, and the opportunity to reunite in the engine room with Cory Hill under Dai Young.
Meanwhile Elliot Dee is also on the radar at the Arms Park as the Wales hooker comes out of contract at the club where he came through the Academy and has gone on to captain during 155 appearances in Newport.
The 26-year-old has fallen out of favour on the international scene recently though and may take the opportunity to re-ignite his career at Cardiff Blues where hooker is one of the positions requiring strengthening during this recruitment window.
