The Guinness Pro14 has announced the 2020/21 season will finish in March after 16 rounds of the competition, with the top teams from each Conference then facing off in a Final.
There have so far been eight rounds of the league, with time given to complete the remaining eight and re-arranged fixtures before the campaign concludes at the end of March. European qualification for the 2021/22 Heineken and Challenge Cups will be decided on standings after round 16.
The from April 17th a new competition will begin called the Rainbow Cup, where the current 12 Welsh, Scottish, Irish and Italian sides will face off against the four former South African Super Rugby sides; Stormers, Bulls, Lions and Sharks, in an eight week competition.
Teams will be split into two conferences consisting of two Welsh, two Irish, two South African, a Scottish and an Italian side, with seven games played against your conference rivals. The top two sides will then compete for the title of Rainbow Cup champions.
