Cardiff Blues’ Monday night game against Ulster at Rodney Parade will be refereed by Scottish official Sam Grove-White, his first time in charge of one of our matches.
The 28-year-old is one of the youngest referees on the Guinness Pro14 panel and one of the most inexperienced, with this being just his 10th league game in the middle.
Grove-White has had experience elsewhere though to prepare him for becoming a regular Pro14 official, having refereed in the U20 Six Nations, the World Sevens Series and even taking charge of two Japanese Top League games.
He has also been in the middle for two European Challenge Cup encounters, Scarlets home win over Bayonne, and Dragons away win over Enisei-STM, both last season.
So far this season he has officiated just the opening round win for Munster over Scarlets in Llanelli, sending Peter O’Mahony off for two yellow cards.
Grove-White will be assisted by Adam Jones and Ben Breakspear of Wales, while the Television Match Official will be Ian Davies, also of Wales.
