Cardiff Blues A will be captained by Ben Thomas as they face Dragons A at Ystrad Mynach on Wednesday afternoon, 4pm kick-off.

The 21-year-old will line up at inside centre alongside Max Llewellyn who returns from the ankle injury suffered against Ospreys in August. Summer signing Luke Scully lines up at fly-half, while Harri Millard is on the wing and Ioan Davies at full-back.

Up front new signing Rowan Jenkins, in on a short-term deal as injury and international cover, will pack down on the loosehead, alongside Iestyn Harris at hooker and tighthead Keiron Assiratti back from the ankle injury he picked up while on loan at Bristol Bears.

Academy lock Rhys Anstey forms a partnership with Teddy Williams in the second row, with two more Academy players Alex Mann and Gwilym Bradley at number eight and on the openside, respectively.

The rest of the starting XV is filled with Sean Moore on the blindside, former Wales U20 international and Pontypridd player widely expected to play for Cardiff RFC when community rugby returns, another Wales U20 cap and Cardiff Met student Ellis Bevan at scrum-half, and Morgan Williams on trial on the wing after the Wales Sevens setup disbanded.

On the bench is Pontypridd loosehead Huw Owen, Rags hooker Evan Yardley, senior tighthead Will Davies-King and Academy tighthead Ben Warren. Scrum-half Ethan Lloyd, fly-half or full-back Jacob Beetham and centre or wing Mason Grady are all Academy members covering the backs.
