Cardiff Blues have made six changes to the side that beat Connacht last time out ahead of the first Guinness Pro14 Monday night match against Munster at Thomond Park.
All six are enforced as John Mulvihill has to deal with the injuries and international call-ups that will play a big part in the next two months of the season, potentially defining how the campaign will go for many teams in the league.
Most of the changes come up front with Kris Dacey starting at hooker in place of the injured Kirby Myhill, while tighthead Dmitri Arhip, locks Ben Murphy and Rory Thornton, and flanker for the night James Ratti replace Dillon Lewis, Seb Davies, Cory Hill and Shane Lewis-Hughes who are all away with Wales. Murphy makes his first start in the Pro14.
There is just a solitary change to the backline as Aled Summerhill makes his first start of the season on the wing with Josh Adams also on international duty. Lloyd Williams will captain the side from scrum-half.
On the bench there is a new replacement front row as Brad Thyer, Ethan Lewis and Scott Andrews are all set for their first appearances of 2020/21, while Sam Moore could make his Pro14 debut if he comes on.
