Willis Halaholo and Rey Lee-Lo will team up in the centre as the Cardiff Blues team to for the first game of the 2020/21 season away to Zebre is named.
John Mulvihill has largely stuck with the forward pack that win against Ospreys at Rodney Parade in August, with just the one change seeing Cory Hill selected at second row, where he will captain the side from, and Josh Turnbull dropping back to number eight as Josh Navidi misses out with a concussion sustained in training.
The backs show more change as Jarrod Evans is re-instated at fly-half, while Halaholo and Lee-Lo are recalled. The former has been out since last November with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, while Lee-Lo sat out the August games due to personal reasons.
Hallam Amos is the final change to the starting XV as he replaces Jason Harries on the wing who has picked up a knee problem in pre-season.
There are strong forward options on the bench with Wales internationals Rhys Carre and Dillon Lewis joining Kirby Myhill and Olly Robinson, while Ben Murphy could make just his fourth Guinness Pro14 appearance for Cardiff Blues as second row cover.
The backs cover is made up of Lewis Jones, Jason Tovey and Garyn Smith, with a number of potential first team options ruled out through injury.
Ellis Jenkins (knee) and Tomos Williams (shoulder) remain on the longer term injury list, while Rhys Gill (bicep), Keiron Assiratti (ankle), Will Boyde (calf) and Owen Lane (shoulder) were not considered for this weekend’s game.
