Cardiff RFC flanker Zach O’Driscoll will return to Bridgend Ravens ahead of the new season after two years at the Arms Park.
The 29-year-old arrived in the capital after four years at the Brewery Field, during which time he captained his hometown club for three seasons and won the WRU National Cup in 2015.
O’Driscoll became a key part of the Cardiff RFC squad right away under Steve Law, slotting in on the openside flank and making 34 appearances in all competitions as the Blue and Blacks lifted a WRU National Cup of our own and finishing second in the Welsh Premiership.
15 further appearances followed before the suspension of the 2019/20 season, during which he helped Cardiff RFC to the top of the Premiership and on the way to another Cup run, taking his overall total to 50 appearances courtesy of a pre-season outing back in 2011.
He now returns to Bridgend when rugby returns, whenever that may be, joining Gareth Thompson and Teri Gee as confirmed departures from the Arms Park.
With Cardiff RFC being run on a minimum cost basis and likely to be made up of largely Cardiff Blues Academy players during 2020/21, it remains to be seen how many of the current semi-professionals will stay with the Blue and Blacks, as well as how many new signings will come in.
