Blue and Blacks ring the changes for visit of RGC

Cardiff RFC head coach Steve Law has rung the changes to his starting XV for the visit of RGC to the Arms Park this Friday night, 7.15pm kick-off.

The Blue and Blacks suffered a narrow 20-18 defeat away at Aberavon last week, cutting the lead at the top of the Indigo Group Premiership to seven points, although we do still have a game-in-hand over second place Carmarthen Quins.

In a bid to bounce back to winning ways immediately there are seven new faces in the Cardiff side that will line-up at kick-off against the North Walians, with three of those coming in the forwards.

Evan Yardley returns to start at hooker with Iestyn Harris dropping to the bench and Ethan Lewis missing out, while Macauley Cook also returns at second row in place of Filo Paulo and Zach O’Driscoll is fit again for a first game since January to start on the openside flank ahead of Luke Crocker.

In the backs there is a new three-quarter line as Joe Scrivens, Jack Brooks and Leon Andrews start at 10, 12 and 13 respectively, with Gareth Thompson dropping to the bench while Barney Nightingale and Max Llewellyn are not involved at all.

Then at full-back Ioan Davies gets the nod to start with Edd Howley, while a change on the bench sees Sam Pailor back in the 23 to cover the back row.

Cardiff RFC: Ioan Davies, James Beal, Leon Andrews, Jack Brooks, Teri Gee, Joe Scrivens, Tom Habberfield; Thomas Davies, Evan Yardley, Will Davies-King, Macauley Cook, Callum Bradbury, Nathan Hudd, Zach O’Driscoll, Morgan Allen (c)

Replacements: Iestyn Harris, Brynley Toms, Ollie Drake, Kieran Martin, Sam Pailor, Ethan Lloyd, Gareth Thompson, Edd Howley
