Cardiff Blues U16 North and South set for top five finishes

Cardiff Blues U16 North won a tight game over inter-regional rivals Cardiff Blues U16 South at the Arms Park on Tuesday night.

A 19-21 victory meant that the sides finished with an almost identical record as the South won four and lose four of their eight games, while the North won four, lost three and drew one of their fixtures, leaving them just a point behind their counterparts.

As a result both teams will finish in the top five of the Regional Age Grade Championship, with the North definitely occupying fifth place while the South will either end up third or fifth depending on how Scarlets East get on against table-topping RGC.

Further to that, Cardiff Blues’ two teams have finished jointly higher up the table than any of the other South Wales regions, a positive step going into the combined U16 stage of the season.

The squad announcement for that and the development squad will be made soon, with fixtures taking place during April.
