The Regional Age Grade Championship draws to a close for Cardiff Blues U16 this evening as the North and South meet in a derby at the Arms Park, kick-off 7.15pm.

It’s been a competitive season at this level, after the domination of Wales’ Capital Region over the last two years, with only nine points separating Dragons Black in seventh and Cardiff Blues South in second.

Cardiff Blues North are four points behind their regional counterparts in fourth place, with RGC four points ahead of the South in top spot but with a game-in-hand, while Ospreys South sit between our two teams.

A win for the North would likely mean Cardiff Blues finish as the best of the regions that participate in the Pro14, based on the joint results of the two teams, but a win for the South could still see them top the league, although a title win would rely on results elsewhere.

There are also bragging rights at stake, with the North having won this fixture for the last two years, before the squads join forced as a combined Cardiff Blues U16 side for the last part of the season ahead of graduating to the U18 level.
