Cardiff Blues back three player Hallam Amos has linked up with Wales’ Six Nations squad ahead of this weekend’s third round match against France at the Principality Stadium.
The 25-year-old missed out on selection initially after sustaining an ankle injury in training before last month’s European Challenge Cup game away at Leicester Tigers, however he returned to action in the loss away at Connacht last weekend.
Amos, who has 22 caps to his name and was in the squad for last year’s Rugby World Cup, replaces regional team-mate Owen Lane who was ruled out of the tournament before it even started after sustaining a significant hamstring injury in training.
His selection could leave John Mulvihill with a back three crisis ahead of this weekend’s game at home to Benetton though, with Amos joining Josh Adams on international duty, while Lane, Aled Summerhill, Harri Millard and Matthew Morgan are all on the injury list.
