Robinson and Lee-Lo go through protocols ahead of Benetton

Cardiff Blues will be sweating on the health of Olly Robinson and Rey Lee-Lo this week as both attempt to recover from head knocks suffered in the loss to Connacht last week.

Centre Lee-Lo took blows to the head on two separate occasions during the game, going off for a Head Injury Assessment at the end of the first half after staying down following a tackle he made, with Ben Thomas temporarily replacing him.

The 33-year-old passed that HIA but was then forced from the field for good in the second half, again staying down after making a tackle. Garyn Smith replaced him on that occasion despite having been substituted himself five minutes previously.

Olly Robinson’s head injury was picked up when carrying into contact in the 49th minute, replaced by Will Boyde who had only gone off one minute beforehand. It is unclear whether he went through a HIA or whether he was immediately withdrawn.

Both players will now go through the return to play protocols with the hope being they pass in time to be considered for action against Benetton at the Arms Park on Sunday.
