Cardiff Blues could be without Matthew Morgan and Harri Millard for the rest of the season after both suffered serious injuries in Sunday’s loss at Leicester Tigers.
Full-back Morgan departed in the 49th game after suffering his injury attempting to score on the left wing after a trademark mazy run through the home defence
He will undergo ankle injury on Wednesday with a four-to-six month estimated period of rehabilitation.
Morgan’s replacement was Harri Millard who slotted in on the wing but was only on the field 10 minutes before getting injured making a try saving tackle.
He dislocated his shoulder and a decision will be made this week on whether surgery is required, but will also be out for a minimum four-to-six months.
The timing could not be worse for John Mulvihill who is also set to lose Tomos Williams, Jarrod Evans, Josh Adams and Owen Lane to the Wales squad next week, with Ben Thomas and Hallam Amos also in the frame.
Willis Halaholo is still out for the season with his knee injury, while Rhun Williams continues to recover from his nerve damage, potentially leaving us light of ten backs during a crucial time of the season.
There is better news up front though as Kris Dacey, Rory Thornton and James Botham will all be back available for selection by mid-February.
