Cardiff RFC are able to welcome back Barney Nightingale to the squad this weekend for the Indigo Group Premiership trip to Swansea on Saturday.
The 23-year-old suffered a concerning injury against Ebbw Vale at the start of November when, after departing the field for a head injury assessment, he suffered a seizure in the dressing room before being rushed to Heath Hospital where he was kept in overnight for observation.
Nightingale has recovered well from that though and is now in a position to resume playing again, hoping to add to his four tries in six games before the spell on the sidelines.
It is a timely return for Steve Law who may have been looking at some permit players to fill his back line this weekend. Gareth Thompson and Ioan Davies both limped off during last Saturday’s win over Llanelli, while Max Llewellyn suffered a possible broken nose.
With the availability of Lewis Jones and Jason Harries not currently known, filling the backs could have been an issue but Nightingale eases that with his availability.
