Cardiff RFC’s Indigo Group Premiership trip to face Swansea this weekend has been called off due to the ongoing illness in the Whites’ squad.
The West Wales club were also forced to postpone last week’s encounter with Aberavon as an outbreak of mumps impacted the squad, which has not cleared up in the last few days.
A statement from Swansea reads “Swansea RFC would like to inform supporters that this Saturday’s home match v Cardiff is postponed. The WRU Competitions Committee has ruled accordingly due to the outbreak of illness amongst the Swansea squad.
“This sensible step unfortunately means we will be without a match this weekend, but all concerned have decided it is the best course of action and Swansea RFC would like to take the opportunity to thank both the WRU and Cardiff RFC for their cooperation.”
A date for the re-arranged game will be announced in due course.
