Pierre Brousset will visit Cardiff Arms Park for the first time as he takes charge of Cardiff Blues v Leicester Tigers in the European Challenge Cup this Saturday night, kick-off 8pm.
The Frenchman has plenty of domestic experience under his belt, having refereed 41 games in the Top14, as well as being a sports teacher. He has officiated six league games this season, handing out eight yellow cards and two red cards in the process.
The 30-year-old made his Heineken Champions Cup debut last week as he was in the middle for Leinster’s win over Benetton at the Royal Dublin Showground, but returns for his 10th game in the Challenge Cup this weekend.
While it is his first visit to the Arms Park, and the first time he will take charge of a game involving Leicester, he has refereed one Cardiff Blues game previously, but unfortunately it is a game us supporters try to forget, the 24-0 away defeat at Sale in December 2017.
Hopefully the season works out how that one did though as we lifted the trophy for a second time in Bilbao!
Brousset will be assisted by countrymen Tual Trainini and Laurent Cardona, with Eric Briquet-Campin acting as the TMO, with the game televised by BT Sport and S4C.
