Cardiff Blues back Harri Millard has been cited following an incident in Saturday’s European Challenge Cup win against Calvisano in Italy.
A European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) statement reads “Millard is alleged to have committed an act of foul play by striking the Rugby Calvisano full back, Kayle Van Zyl (No 15), with his foot in the 46th minute of the match in contravention of Law 9.11.”
The incident did not see Millard penalised during the game and was picked up by Citing Commisioner Mihai Irimia of Romania.
Millard will now take part in a disciplinary hearing via video conference on Wednesday 20th November. Sam Hillas (England), Chairman, Donal Courtney (Ireland) and Yannick Jauzion (France) have been appointed as the independent Disciplinary Committee.
Under World Rugby’s Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 9.11 carries the following sanction entry points – Low End: 2 weeks; Mid-range: 6 weeks; Top end: 10 to 52 weeks.
