Cardiff Blues have opted for a much changed forward pack as the European Challenge Cup starts this weekend.
The side that will start away to Calvisano sports eight changes to the team that beat Cheetahs last week, with five of them coming up front as John Mulvihill takes the chance to rest some senior players and blood some young stars.
An all-change front row sees Brad Thyer, Kirby Myhill and Keiron Assiratti pack down, while Macauley Cook slots in at lock alongside Josh Turnbull who captains the team.
Seb Davies shifts back to number eight with Shane Lewis-Hughes retaining his place on the blindside and James Botham makes his first senior Cardiff Blues start on the openside.
The three changes in the backs see Lewis Jones replace Lloyd Williams at scrum-half while Willis Halaholo starts in place of Jason Tovey (ankle) and Jason Harries is in for Aled Summerhill (groin).
There is more inexperience on the bench with Will Davies-King and Ben Thomas in line for their senior professional debuts after being involved with the Academy.
James Ratti is also on the bench after impressing for Cardiff RFC since signing from the Ospreys over the summer, while Alun Lawrence makes his European debut after appearing for the first time in the Pro14 last week.
