Cardiff Blues A have once again called on players from the Indigo Group Premiership to bolster the ranks ahead of the last two games of the campaign.
They join the Cardiff Blues Academy and fringe first team players who have been competing alongside an assortment of lower league players in losses against Ospreys Development and Munster A over the last two weeks.
The most recent of those was the 28-7 defeat in Cork last Friday, and Gethin Jenkins and T Rhys Thomas have made seven changes to the team which fell out there, with Alun Lawrence taking over the captaincy in the absence of Macauley Cook.
Cardiff RFC’s Brynley Toms comes in at loosehead prop, while the Academy’s Teddy Williams packs down at lock, with Cardiff Met 1st XV captain Aled Ward and Wales Exiles’ Gwilym Bradley in the back row.
In the backs, Cardiff’s Barney Nightingale starts at inside centre with team-mate Joe Gatt on one wing, while Merthyr’s Sam Jones lines up on the opposite wing.
On the bench there are places for Lewis Francis, who has been playing for Cardiff on permit from Bedwas, the Blue and Blacks’ Ollie Drake, and Pontypridd’s Diggy Bird, while James Down is set for a return from injury.
