Cardiff Blues have been training in Cape Town this week ahead of the Guinness Pro14 getting underway on Saturday.
John Mulvihill’s men will take on the Southern Kings at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth, but have spent the week training in the seat of the South African Parliament.
The squad set off on Saturday afternoon and after getting acclimatised on Sunday, have taken part in an opposed training session against the Western Province team that play in the Currie Cup.
27-men have travelled to South Africa, including a fit again Lloyd Williams, but the notable absentee is Owen Lane. It is believed that he trained fully against Cardiff University RFC at Sophia Gardens last week and the reason for his current unavailability is unknown.
