Cardiff Blues A have been boosted by a number of senior Cardiff Blues Academy players as they prepare to head to Ireland and face Munster A on Friday evening.

Ioan Davies and Alun Lawrence have both been named in the starting XV having featured and scored for Cardiff Blues in the pre-season friendly win over Bedford Blues last weekend.

They replace Jacob Beetham and Aled Ward who both drop to the substitutes bench, while Ben Murphy is also a new addition having played at Goldington Road last weekend, packing down alongside captain Macauley Cook in the second row.

Elsewhere there are positional changes as Tim Grey switches to blindside to allow Lawrence to wear number eight, while Daf Smith and Mason Grady swap jerseys in the backs with Smith at outside centre and Grady on the wing.

The bench sees the addition of Glamorgan Wanderers and former Academy loosehead Rob Lewis, with Teddy Williams also dropping down after scoring the only Cardiff Blues try against Ospreys Development in a 29-5 loss last week.
