Cardiff RFC will be without full-back Edd Howley for the next six weeks after he sustained a broken hand in the win over Pontypridd.
The 23-year-old was not in the squad that travelled to North Wales on Saturday to beat RGC in the Specsavers Cup after an x-ray showed the extent of his injury.
Howley will now miss the trip to Llanelli on Saturday and is a doubt for the start of the run of games that takes the Blue and Blacks from mid-October through to Christmas, starting at home against Swansea on the 12th October.
Since arriving at the Arms Park from Neath in November last year he has played 24 times in all competitions, scoring 22 tries and kicking four goals, finishing as the top scorer in the 2018/19 campaign.
He is currently on a run of scoring in each of his last seven games, including for Cardiff Blues A against Leinster A in the Celtic Cup, and grabbed a brace against Pontypridd as the Blue and Blacks got the 2019/20 season off to a winning start.
