Cardiff Blues Women go for the title at the Arms Park

Cardiff Blues Women bring their Women’s Regional Championship campaign to a close when they welcome Ospreys Women to the Cardiff Arms Park.

The game comes two weeks after the side went up to North Wales and secured a huge 7-48 victory over Merched RGC, bouncing back from the disappointing defeat suffered at the hands of Scarlets Women in round one.

That result saw Cardiff Blues stay in the hunt for top spot going into the final week of games, but it will be a tough task to come out on top with opponents Ospreys the reigning champions and currently unbeaten.

A win for the away side on Sunday will see them lift the trophy again, but should the hosts emerge victorious then they will need to wait for the Scarlets v RGC fixture to be completed in the second game at the Arms Park before discovering their fate.

To give the team the best chance of winning, head coach Darren Bool has kept faith in the majority of the starting XV who led the side to victory two weeks ago, with just three changes made.

All of the new faces are in the backs, with Rafiuke Taylor preferred on the wing, while Kierra Deekes and Wales international Robyn Wilkins form the third different half-back pairing in as many games.

Niamh Tinman, Millie Williams and Rebekah O’Loughlin all drop onto the bench, while hooker Bronnie Jones, second row Kira Philpott and back row Jenni Scoble are introduced after missing out in North Wales.

Cardiff Blues Women: Catherine Richards, Paige Randall, Molly Philpott, India Berbillion, Rafiuke Taylor, Robyn Wilkins, Kierra Deekes; Jordan Hopkins, Kim Jones, Cerys Hale, Emily Maisey, Liliana Podpadec, Abbie Flemming (c), Georgia Evans

Replacements: Bronnie Jones, Lily Snape, Danyelle Dinapoli, Kira Philpott, Jenni Scoble, Niamh Tinman, Millie Williams, Rebekah O’Loughlin

Get down to the Arms Park for a 12.30 kick-off and cheer Cardiff Blues Women on as they go for the Women’s Regional Championship title!
