Cardiff Blues will take part in a live training session with London Scottish next Friday, 16th August, as preparations step up for the start of the Celtic Cup and Guinness Pro14.
The event will take place at the Greene King Championship’s Richmond Athletic Ground and will be open to the public with free admission. It follows Cardiff Blues beating the hosts 23-24 in a pre-season friendly back in August 2017.
Scottish are now coached by former Cardiff Blues defence coach Graham Steadman, who was backs and attack coach last season before taking over the top job from Nic Rouse, after a ninth place finish in 2018/19.
Speaking to Scrum Magazine, Steadman said, “I’m delighted to welcome Cardiff Blues to the RAG.
“Before joining London Scottish I was with the Blues and know how strong an organization they are [and] the joint training session is a great opportunity for both squads to build on their preseason work and a great opportunity for individuals in both squads to catch the selectors’ eyes.”
“It didn’t surprise me at all that they finished last season well and I’m sure that upward trend will continue.”
Cardiff Blues will also be putting on a training session for London Welsh’s mini and youth players on Thursday 15th August at Old Deer Park between 4pm and 6pm.
Players and coaches will be in attendance before taking part in a Q&A session with food available to purchase on site.
