The Cardiff Athletic Club Rugby Section AGM took place in the clubhouse at the Arms Park on Friday night, lasting an entire nine minutes.
Prior to the meeting the Chairman’s Report had been sent out on the back of what was a very successful Cardiff RFC season, whereby the Blue and Blacks pushed Merthyr all the way in the Premiership and lifted the National Cup.
Questions were expected in regards to the recent situation between CAC and Cardiff Blues Ltd, after the former issuing the latter a statutory demand over the non-payment of rent, with CBL director and Rugby Section Committee member Simon Down available to provide answers.
However, in the end the only question came from CAC Management Committee Chairman Keith Morgan, who asked Rugby Section Chairman Chris Norman to speak about their relationship with the Cardiff Blues.
Norman responded, “Cardiff Blues have been right behind us, with John Mulvihill very supportive of what Steve Law is doing, and coaches like TRT (T Rhys Thomas) and Gethin (Jenkins) have come in and driven standards to the next level.
“Obviously there’s been some stuff going on off-the-field over the last few weeks but that’s done now and we’re ready to move forward and build on the relationship.”
