With last week’s announcements of new signings, retained players and departing faces, the Cardiff RFC squad for 2019/20 has really started to take shape.
The Blue and Blacks will be hoping this group of players and coaching staff can take motivation from a superb campaign last season, and push on to retain the WRU National Cup and go one better than runner-up in the Principality Premiership.
Loosehead Prop: Thomas Davies, Fraser Young, Brynley Toms

Back Row: Sam Pailor, Aled Cockwell, Zach O’Driscoll, Morgan Allen, Nathan Hudd, Alex Everett, Lloyd Pike, James Thomas
Scrum-Half: Tom Habberfield, Ben Williams

Head Coach: Steve Law
Backs/Attack Coach: James Dixon
Defence Coach: Gethin Jenkins
Forwards Coach: T. Rhys Thomas
S&C Coach: Will Cusack
A strong squad of 32 players currently, made up of 14 returning from last season and 18 new faces as Steve Law assembles a squad, and a slightly tweaked coaching staff, rivalling any in the league at the moment.
Maintaining a core of players from the successful 2018/19 group is key, then adding professional quality in the form of James Ratti, James Thomas, Tom Habberfield and Sam Beard is a huge bonus.
As well as that, plenty of Premiership experience from Nathan Hudd, Barney Nightingale, Joe Scrivens and Leon Andrews, to compliment young former Academy prospects in the form of Evan Yardley, Lloyd Pike, Ben Williams and George Thomas.
Things are looking very exciting for Cardiff RFC!
