Cardiff Blues are set to discover their 2019/20 Guinness Pro14 Fixture List when the league announces the schedule for the new season on Wednesday 17th July at 1pm.
This year’s fixtures will be released earlier than each of the last two seasons since the competition took in two South African sides and expanded to 14 teams at the start of the 2017/18 campaign, with dates and kick-off times set to be confirmed up to round 20.
The season is also set to start almost a month later than usual, on the last weekend of September, due to the Rugby World Cup taking place in Japan. As a result the Final will be played later, set for Cardiff City Stadium in early June 2020.
Cardiff Blues will be keen to find out who they will be facing particularly in the first six games of the season, as John Mulvihill’s side is not as impacted by international call-ups as others in the league.
A change-up of the conferences at the end of last season will see Wales’ Capital Region up against Munster, Connacht, Scarlets, Benetton, Southern Kings and Edinburgh in Conference B, avoiding the likes of Leinster and Glasgow.
The format of the competition stays the same with Cardiff Blues playing every team in our Conference home and away, the Welsh regions in the other Conference home and away, and the remaining teams in the other Conference home or away.
