Cardiff RFC’s first game of the new season against Pontypridd at the Arms Park will be shown live on BBC Two, after being selected for Scrum V Live coverage.
As a result the date and time of the game have switched from Saturday afternoon to Friday 6th September with a 7.05pm kick-off.
It will therefore act as the curtain raiser for the Indigo Group Premiership, now sponsored by the business support company who have offices in Penarth and have come on board as a Cardiff Blues sponsor for the forthcoming season.
Cardiff and Pontypridd finished second and third, respectively, in last season’s Premiership, with the Blue and Blacks winning the New Year’s Day tie between the two teams at the Arms Park, before Ponty got revenge at Sardis Road on Good Friday.
Cardiff Blues season ticket holders get free entry to all Cardiff RFC matches as part of the price of the season ticket.
