Cardiff RFC will be without Fraser Young and Mathew Powell to start the 2019/20 season as they undergo surgery over the summer.
Loosehead prop Young, who has been out of action since March having played 14 games, and been on the winning side 14 times, before that, has undergone shoulder surgery which will continue to keep him out beyond September.
Meanwhile winger Powell, who scored seven times in 22 games since joining from Cross Keys at the start of the season, will go under the knife for a knee injury having last played against Neath in May.
There is better news though as fellow winger James Beal will be back and raring to go for the start of the new season after missing the majority of last season through injury.
He will be hoping to add to his 11 tries scored in 38 games so far with the Blue and Blacks, having also featured for Cardiff Blues Premiership Select in that time.
