Cardiff RFC held their end of season cap presentation and awards dinner on Friday night in The Exchange Hotel, presided over by Carolyn Hitt.
Caps are presented to those players who have played 20 games for the Blue and Blacks in a season and, in what is a nod to the consistency in squad selection we have seen during 2018/19, 13 players received the honour.
Forwards Zach O’Driscoll, Morgan Allen, Tom Daley, Thomas Davies, Sam Pailor, Kieran Martin and Kieron Brown all got their club caps, as well as Martin Roberts, Joe Gatt, Steffan Jones, Ben Thomas, Mathew Powell and Edd Howley in the backs.
Caps were presented by legends in the form of Mervyn John, Sir Gareth Edwards and Steve Blackmore, amongst others.
Club captain Joey Tomlinson was the big winner on the night, as he picked up the Coaches’ Player of the Year, presented to him by Mike Rayer, as well as his club blazer after making his 100th Cardiff RFC appearance.
Zach O’Driscoll was also a winner as he secured the Players’ Player of the Year, while Steve Law picked up the Chairman’s Award after leading the side to a second in the Principality Premiership and a first WRU National Cup win since 1997.
Finally, former Cardiff RFC winger Steve Ford was inducted into the Hall of Fame, after scoring198 tries in 234 games for the Blue and Blacks.
