Cardiff Blues centre Rey Lee-Lo has been named in the Guinness Pro14 Dream Team for the 2018/19 season as part of a special programme on Premier Sports 1HD.
The 32-year-old was nominated for the outside centre position after a season that has seen him start 19 games in the league, and score eight tries, as he finished t-5th in the top try scorer list for the campaign.
He fought off competition from Connacht’s Tom Farrell and Glasgow’s Nick Grigg to make the team, both of whom managed to break into their national team’s squad on the back of their performances this season.
Lee-Lo is now expected to be named in the Samoa squad that competes in the Pacific Nations Cup across late July and early August, before heading for the Rugby World Cup in Japan during September.
Elsewhere there were also Dream Team nominations for Josh Turnbull at blindside flanker, Willis Halaholo at inside centre and Matthew Morgan at full-back, although they were beaten out by Munster’s Peter O’Mahony, Ulster’s Stuart McCloskey and Ospreys’ Dan Evans.
The other Welsh representation in the side came courtesy of Scarlets captain Ken Owens at hooker.
